Where Do All TheTax Dollars Go? I am a mother of two, one in high school and one in elementary. My concern is I'm sure, like most parents every year, our taxes have gone up, and every year the school supply lists get bigger and longer. Also, there are now lab fees for my son in high school that are mandatory to pay now. This letter is in reference to the article "When a Promise Isn't Kept." I was having my morning cup of coffee and I picked up the Highlands Today, dated Aug. 22, and saw the Three Stooges; oh I'm sorry, the Four Stooges, complaining like my mom used to say, "Complaining about how hard they have it with a loaf of bread under each arm." Ford, G.M. and Chrysler are in the shape they are today because of men like these four, wanting more and more! No wonder we are called ugly Americans! The days of working at the same job for 20 years are mostly over and the younger guys coming up don't get benefits like these guys anymore. ...more
