Batman has had a slew of enemies over the years β The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman β but in Ybor City last year, he added a new nemesis: Tampa police. Ybor City's version of the Caped Crusader βhis real name is Walsh Ian Nichols β was sitting on a curb eating sushi on Oct. 21 when an officer arrested him for wearing a mask on a public street. Nichols, 21, failed to use a batarang or fancy equipment to escape the officer. Now he is fighting back in court. His lawyer has filed a motion to dismiss, which will be heard next month. ...more

In my opinion you can't pay our police officers enough, seeing as, like the military, they are risking their lives to protect us. But there's an interesting perk that Tampa police officers enjoy that is growing by leaps and bounds. That is, it increases commensurate with gasoline prices. Many officers who live anywhere in Tampa, Hillsborough County and any adjacent county, meaning Pinellas, Pasco, Polk or Manatee, are allowed to take their cars home and their gas is paid for. ...more
