LAKE PLACID – An ownership change is in the works for the Montessori Children's School of Lake Placid, which opened in 2001. Jennifer Payne, a longtime volunteer at the school, recently became its director. "I have a contract right now to purchase the school," Payne said Monday. The school's owner, Shannon Fritzius, has been ill, according to Payne. SEBRING –– The My School Preschool and Child Development Center will be relocating its daycare to Living Waters Church of God starting Monday, said owner Jennifer Lipowski. A fire Tuesday at the daycare's original location caused the relocation. Lipowski had run the business at 1002 Persimmon Ave. in Sebring for the last 10 years. The cause of the fire could likely be electrical in nature, said Mike Roberts, deputy chief of Sebring Fire and Rescue, in an interview Wednesday.
