TAMPA BAY AREA Airport Sets Record Tampa International Airport set a record with 9.58 million passenger departures in 2007, up 1.5 percent compared with 2006, despite a year-end decline airport officials attributed to an economic downturn. NATION Delta Mum On Mergers Delta Air Lines officials were mum Friday on the outcome of a board meeting at which executives could get the green light to enter formal talks with two competitors about a combination. Asked whether the meeting in New York had been completed, board member Walter Massey responded, "I can't talk about that." He then hung up the phone. Atlanta-based Delta declined to comment.
