A cement truck flipped over onto an Interstate 275 entrance ramp Monday afternoon, gouging out a huge hole and shutting down the ramp until at least Thursday evening. The damage - a hole measuring 28 feet by 6 feet by about 8 inches deep - happened when the truck hit the center guard rail exiting on 54th Avenue South and flipped over onto the entrance ramp. The Department of Transportation hopes to have one lane open by late Thursday. The truck's driver, 58-year-old Stanley Smith of Bradenton, suffered minor injuries. ...more
