Many Pasco road projects might skid into a ditch when it comes to qualifying for the first phase of the federal economic stimulus. Nobody quite knows for sure just yet since the ink isn't dry on the stimulus legislation before Congress, according to Donald Skelton, the District 7 secretary for the Florida Department of Transportation. Pasco County could get $20 million for transportation projects from the federal stimulus package now making its way through Washington, D.C., county commissioners learned Tuesday. To take advantage of the stimulus money, the county officials must sendthe state Department of Transportation by the end of the week a list of what they plan to spend the federal money on.
