I understand the rebate of several hundred dollars will be sent to taxpayers to stimulate the economy. My question is: Is this the same payment plan as when we received $400, only to find that it was taken as an early withdrawal from our income tax return? Is this going to be tax free? I just need to be prepared. It sounds wonderful in the immediate, but if we have to go further into debt as a country, being obligated to another that does not have our love for freedom, I have concerns. ...more
