The Sebring Tourist Club was organized in 1927 and owned by the City of Sebring. On March 4, 1997, the name was changed to the Sebring Recreation Club, Inc. Annual regular membership dues are $25, which runs from November through October. Numerous activities occur at the club year-round, however, the Recreation Club will host four state, four county and six Central Florida District Shuffleboard Tournaments this year. On Oct. 30 the Obama administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released its 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule that includes policy changes that will significantly reduce payments for cardiovascular-related services. We've given Gov. Charlie Crist grief for pledging during the 2006 Republican gubernatorial primary that he would govern along the conservative lines of the man he was seeking to replace, Jeb Bush, and then lurching to the left after he was elected. His enthusiastic backing of the Legislature's decision to have the state, in effect, take over the property insurance industry in Florida was one example of un-Jeb-ish behavior. Another was the governor's backing of President Barack Obama's economic stimulus program.
