A Tampa woman was detained at the St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport this morning and charged with violating a concealed weapons permit as she walked through a security checkpoint with a .32-caliber handgun in her purse. Frances A. Fuller, 55, 3709 N. 36th St., has a concealed weapons permit, but the permit does not allow her to carry her gun onto airport property, according to Pinellas County sheriff's deputies who arrested Fuller shortly after 7 a.m. today. ...more

Dear Lyn: I'm retired and single. I've been taking care of my elderly mother at home. Her memory is good, but she's declining physically. Our family doctor recently told me she should be in a nursing home. Her condition is getting worse and she needs more care than I can provide. We found a nice place. It's close, so I'm able to see her often. But I'm feeling guilty — like I should be doing more. Any suggestions on how to shake this feeling?
