Some owners were allowed to install carpet on the walks of their building. Our building is now going to be painted and weatherproofed. The board is requiring that the owners have the carpet removed at their expense. The board says that the carpet is not in compliance with Florida law. Nearly 300 volunteers built a playground on Dec. 6 for the Nick Capitano Boys & Girls Club, 1218 E. Kay St. They installed climbing elements, slides and swings on the 3,200-square-foot playground. The project was funded by the MetLife Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay. KaBOOM!, a Washington-based nonprofit group got the organizations together, helped design the playground and supervised the construction of the playground set.
