When I read about the war in Iraq, and how brutal it is, I think about how brutal that nation has been throughout history. The Bible has a very vivid description of Babylon, or modern day Iraq. Habakkuk 1:6 describes them as "a cruel and violent people." This was written in 600 B.C., or over 2,600 years ago. That description should not surprise us today. The Lord will be in charge till the end, but for now we must control their violence. The nations surrounding Iraq will not have peace as long as this culture of violence exists. ...more
