Although Stuart is only a juvenile sea turtle, he's had a rough life. He was found on the east coast of Florida with serious shell and skull injuries and a grim prognosis for survival. On Friday, he was brought to The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, which hopes to treat Stuart, give the turtle time to heal and release him back into the wild. If all goes well, Stuart eventually will reach 31/2 to 4 feet in length and help contribute to the survival of the species. A young male otter scampered across the floor of its cage Wednesday afternoon at The Florida Aquarium, squeaking at visitors. The approximately 3-month-old pup was found orphaned in Brandon on Tuesday and was taken to an emergency animal clinic, but the clinic had never cared for an otter before, so its staff called the aquarium. ...more
