For almost two days now, the family of a 56-year-old woman killed after being rear-ended on Dale Mabry Highway late Wednesday has been unaware of her death, troopers said. State law prohibits investigators from publicly identifying a person who has died until his or her family has been notified. Expect more state troopers on Florida's highways over the Thanksgiving holiday, one of the deadliest times for driving. The Florida Highway Patrol is planning to gear up for the holiday by assigning nearly every trooper, supervisor and special investigator — about 1,650 total — to look for speeders and drunken drivers.
