Last October I had cataract surgery in both eyes at the Newsom Eye and Laser Center. I had been referred to another eye center but I didn't care for the doctor or post surgery scheduling, so I decided to try Dr. Newsom and went for a consult with him. I was impressed by Dr. Newsom's warm, caring manner and his keen sense of humor. From the pre-op to the surgery, through his post-op exam, his staff reflected his philosophy of patient care. Patients are pampered by everyone and they calm the natural fear associated with such a delicate procedure, as well as monitor patients carefully before and after surgery. If any surgery can be called pleasant, it was a pleasant experience. My vision is enormously improved. What a bright and clear world I see now! Anyone who has experienced excellent cataract surgery knows what I mean. Medicare pays for a free pair of glasses should they be necessary and my lens prescription was filled promptly and precisely. ...more
