CHIEFS ...16 RAIDERS ...10 Jamaal Charles scored on a 44-yard run for Kansas City's first rushing touchdown of the season and the Chiefs used a late interception to win their seventh straight game in Oakland. The Chiefs have managed to win just five of their past 35 games. But three of those wins have come at the Oakland Coliseum, where Kansas City has the longest winning streak ever by a visiting team. Ryan Succop kicked three field goals and Kansas City once again pulled out a close one against the Raiders in Oakland in their first game since releasing running back Larry Johnson. The Raiders scored a touchdown on their opening drive and then managed just three points and 202 yards the rest of the way. ...more

REDSKINS ...27 BRONCOS ...17 Washington broke the 17-point barrier for the first time this season and ended a four-game losing streak. Denver lost its third straight after starting the season 6-0 and had to play the second half with ex-Buc Chris Simms at quarterback after Kyle Orton left with an ankle injury. Ladell Betts scored on a 1-yard run with 2:44 to play. With Clinton Portis sidelined after suffering a concussion in last week's loss at Atlanta, Betts made his first start since 2006 and ran for 114 yards on 26 carries. Jason Campbell completed 17 of 26 passes for 193 yards for the Redskins. The 27-point outburst was their greatest since Week 2 of last season. ...more

PACKERS ...17 COWBOYS ...7 Charles Woodson helped Green Bay's defense finally play up to its potential against a big-time opponent, forcing two fumbles and picking off a pass by Tony Romo on the goal line in a victory against Dallas. It wasn't a pretty win for the Packers, but it might have saved their season after back-to-back demoralizing losses. The Packers sacked Romo five times and held him to 251 yards passing in a momentum-killer for the Cowboys, who had won four straight. Dallas also lost starting right tackle Marc Colombo to a broken left leg. Aaron Rodgers scored on a quarterback sneak and threw a touchdown pass to tight end Spencer Havner. Rodgers endured another rough day at the office, taking four sacks and spending much of the day under pressure. ...more

CHARGERS ...31 EAGLES ...23 LaDainian Tomlinson scored twice to continue his climb up the career rushing and scoring lists, and San Diego won its fourth straight to pull into a tie atop the AFC West with slumping Denver. The Chargers and Broncos, both 6-3, play next Sunday in Denver. Four weeks ago, the Chargers appeared dead in the water, 3 1/2 games back after losing 34-23 to the then-undefeated Broncos. Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb threw for a season-high 450 yards, completing 35 of 55, and two late touchdowns. He was intercepted in the end zone by Antonio Cromartie on the game's last play. ...more

In the school's inaugural football game Aug. 31, 2007, Sunlake traveled to River Ridge and lost 50-0. Friday, in a defensive struggle that featured more sacks (23) than points (17), the Seahawks (4-7) edged the Royal Knights (3-8). ...more

CHARGERS ...21 GIANTS ...20 Philip Rivers capped an 80-yard drive with an 18-yard pass to Vincent Jackson with 21 seconds to play and San Diego handed New York its fourth straight loss. Rivers was 24 of 36 for 209 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Jackson, in helping the Chargers win their third straight. The Giants are 5-4 heading into a bye week and not looking very much like a playoff team. In the first meeting between Rivers and Giants quarterback Eli Manning since they were dealt for each other on draft day 2004, Terrell Thomas intercepted Rivers' pass late in the fourth quarter and returned it 33 yards to the San Diego 4. A holding penalty on first down pushed New York back 10 yards, and it had to settle for a short field goal and a six-point lead that Rivers and Jackson erased. Rivers hit Kris Wilson on a 2-yarder in the third to give San Diego a 14-7 lead in a game in which the Giants defense rebounded from miserable efforts the previous three weeks. ...more

CARDINALS ...41 BEARS ...21 One week after throwing five interceptions, Kurt Warner tied a career high by throwing five touchdown passes. Larry Fitzgerald added 123 yards receiving and two TDs. Warner was at his best after a miserable performance in a 34-21 loss to Carolina. He handled a team that had a chance to sign him as a backup four years ago, matching the record for TD passes by a Bears opponent without getting picked off. Warner completed 23 of 32 for 261 yards and threw TD passes on the first four possessions. ...more

JAGUARS ...24 CHIEFS ...21 David Garrard threw for 264 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown to Mike Sims-Walker, to lead Jacksonville. The Jaguars, up and down all season, responded in similar fashion following losses to Arizona and Seattle earlier this season. The latest turnaround after a defeat came after Coach Jack Del Rio ripped his team's defensive effort in a 30-13 loss at the Titans, calling it "insulting, ugly and embarrassing." It worked, at least against Kansas City. Playing without RB Larry Johnson, the Chiefs managed little offense until late in the fourth quarter when Matt Cassel threw for two scores. ...more

FALCONS ...31 REDSKINS ...17 Michael Turner ran for a season-high 166 yards, breaking away from former Atlanta CB DeAngelo Hall on a 58-yard touchdown that finished off Washington early in the fourth quarter. Turner also scored from 30 yards as the Falcons built a 24-3 halftime lead. The Redskins looked down and out, losing RB Clinton Portis to an apparent concussion, and Hall lost his cool after LaRon Landry delivered a late hit to Atlanta QB Matt Ryan along the Falcons sideline. As flags flew, Hall jumped into the middle of things, surrounded by Atlanta players and Coach Mike Smith. Hall was yanked away before any punches were thrown. ...more

CHARGERS ...24 RAIDERS ...16 Some things never change in San Diego, such as the great weather and LaDainian Tomlinson and the Chargers beating hapless Oakland. Tomlinson scored twice, the first in the wildcat, and the Chargers earned their 13th straight victory against the Raiders. It's the longest active NFL winning streak by one team over another. The Chargers swept the series for the sixth straight season. Many Chargers, including quarterback Philip Rivers, have never lost to the Raiders. It was San Diego's seventh straight home win against the Raiders. The Chargers sacked JaMarcus Russell five times. ...more
