TARPON SPRINGS -- Police and Cycadia Cemetery officials would like to know who stole a 75-pound marble sphere from atop a monument in the municipal graveyard. The 71-year old marker that was vandalized is a memorial to Viola Keeney Beekman. She donated property to start the cemetery in 1887. ...more

I grew up in north Georgia knowing that my grandmother was born in Oklahoma Indian Territory in 1882. Her Hulsey family traveled there in 1881. Unfortunately, I was too young to be interested in genealogy when my grandmother was alive and never asked about her childhood. ...more
