The American Bankers Association meetings in Chicago during late October drew a surprising variety of protesters. These ranged from unions to civic groups, political activists and even a person in a Downsized Man superhero costume. With the ABA in focus, I add my perspective and that of many other millions of American savers who decry the historically abysmal interest rates paid on savings. A man who caused a disturbance on a Delta flight from New York City to Tampa on Thursday was arrested after he scuffled at the gate with Tampa International Airport police, according to an affidavit. Robert M. Waugh, 32, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who told authorities he was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, was charged with four counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest.
