Angelo Tintori, who turned 100 on Tuesday, has shopped at the Publix at River Crossing twice a week since the day it opened 10 years ago. He's very well-known there, and the employees gave him a surprise birthday party at the store. He was surprised with a cake, balloons, a gift card and other goodies. It was with much pleasure that I received a thank you e-mail from Col. James Purvis, saying how thankful he was of the five boxes full of goodies that our American Legion Auxiliary Unit 69 had sent to the troops. Purvis further said that he would see that his forward units, who don't get much mail, got the boxes and that only someone who has served in the military would know the full impact of what the boxes mean.
