Joseph H. Brown's at it again. Nearly six years after an overwhelming majority of Floridians voted for Florida's workplace smoking amendment, he's still railing against it, as he did on May 18 in these very pages. Regarding "School Board OKs Speaker's Hiring" (Metro, Dec. 19): The Hillsborough County School Board will spend $25,000 for an etiquette consultant to speak about manners to a small number of male students at two schools. This sum, I understand, will be in addition to more than $40,000 this particular consultant has previously received from the school board budget for like services. ...more
