Regarding Saturday's front page: I cannot believe anyone would be remotely interested in hearing the 911 call made during someone's most horrific nightmare come true ("Mother, Her 3 Sons Discovered Dead"). Our city would be better served by attending a sporting event to see people at their finest. ...more

All three incorporated areas in Highlands County will celebrate Halloween trick or treat tonight. Sebring residents should expect guests from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Placid ghosts, ghouls and goblins will be on the streets from 5 to 8:30 p.m. The Fall Festival in DeVane Park will attract elementary aged children from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
