LUTZ A home that sits on the edge of a major highway but fronts the dead-end Holly Lane could turn into a real estate office. Brian Hiatt, co-owner of Genesis Mortgage Services, is hoping to remodel the 2,000-square-foot home into a bungalow-styled office for his company. Hiatt pleaded his case before a zoning hearing officer John Crislip on Tuesday. He began by saying he was unfamiliar with the rezoning process and ended his presentation by apologizing for his lack of knowledge, adding "We don't know what we're doing." Hiatt is hoping for a favorable recommendation from Crislip, and said he is willing to accept development conditions that would limit the office's operating hours and preserve the home's residential-styled architecture. ...more
