In reference to "Hospice house ground-breaking ceremony set," Highlands Today, Jan. 2; Good Shepherd Hospice is to be congratulated for planning the construction of a hospice house in Highlands County. It will be a welcomed addition to local health care services. However, the Jan. 2 newspaper story may have left the impression that in-patient hospice care is currently unavailable in the area. Hope Hospice has provided in-patient care in Highlands County since July 2009. ...more
