Nelson Capestany had just bought a Slurpee at 7-Eleven and was waiting for the light to change at Moog Road and U.S. 19 when a man pointed a black and silver pistol at him and jumped into his car on the last day of August. Now, that man – Javon Corzell Jones - is sitting in the Land O' Lakes Jail awaiting trial on charges of armed carjacking, armed robbery and false imprisonment. He was arrested in connection to the summer carjacking Monday at the jail where he's been since Sept. 11 on other charges. Sitting in the front passenger seat, Jones, 27, ordered Capestany to drive to a mobile home park off of Alternate U.S. 19 just after 4:30 a.m., according to a sheriff's office report, and made him go inside the home. ...more
