After reading the article about U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez and his efforts to raise money for the 2010 election, I have come up with a suggestion for him and all other politicians with the same problem. Why don't they just focus on doing a good job now. If they were to do the job of serving the people successfully, then they would be re-elected no matter how much money they have or don't have. All the millions they spend bombarding us with ads filled with lies, mud slinging and empty promises, could then be spent on more important things, like people. ...more

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating two bank robberies that occurred within 24 hours. The suspect in each case was a white male wearing a ball cap, although police believe the robberies were committed by different people. ...more

TAMPA - The Tampa office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is without permanent leadership after the agent in charge stepped down and his next in command was placed on administrative leave.
