I was invited to participate in the cancer fund raiser fashion show last year as a Realtor and an usher. I was told there were Realtors and cancer survivors that would be modeling in the show. When I mentioned that I was also a survivor, I was promoted to model. I was honored to participate in this wonderful fundraiser for cancer. I honestly did not know what to expect, but I found out in a hurry that we start with very ordinary people and turn them into professional models! The hours that go into this show are countless. This is in reference to the article of Jan. 26. For some, and probably most people in Spring Lake, this is huge news. There are many questions on our minds, and there certainly must be others here who have them as well. Why does Spring Lake Improvement District need more water retention ponds now that the flooding of private land to the east of Spring Lake has been resolved? Who will have to pay for the golf course? Will our taxes be raised to do this? If so, how much? Is the current owner of the golf course wanting to sell the golf course? Is the course making a profit? Is the property clear and free of liens? ...more

Most years, Tampa-based ExecuJet Charter Services Inc. gets a business boost from flying local residents to the Super Bowl, but this year is different with the game in Tampa on Sunday.
