INJURY REPORT

Ryan Braun, 3B/OF (Brewers) - Braun has missed the last four games with an injured muscle in his rib cage sustained Saturday against the Nationals. A trip to the disabled list seems likely unless he shows considerable improvement in the next few days. Don't panic too much; a short trip to the disabled list actually will give him some much-needed rest before what figures to be a long playoff run. Josh Hamilton, OF (Texas Rangers) - Hamilton had been sidelined for the past few games due to left knee inflammation. The Rangers attempted to bring him back for Thursday's game against the Astros, but after he was hit on the left hand by a pitch in his first at-bat, they took him out to avoid further injury. If Hamilton is out for an extended period, Brandon Boggs, Frank Catalanotto and Marlon Byrd will receive more playing time. Monitor Hamilton's injury closely. ...more
