A gunman who tried to rob a couple outside a restaurant fled when one of the victims fought back, karate chopping the would-be robber's arm, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office reported. The gunman remains at large, despite deputies' efforts to track him with a dog, the report said. The attempted robbery happened about 9 p.m. Monday as a husband and wife, ages 59 and 58, left the Sioux City Steakhouse at 8515 Little Road, where they had just eaten dinner, the report said. The Mabry Elementary PTA Health & Fitness Committee sponsored its fourth annual Walk Your Child to School Day on Oct. 8, with more than 500 students participating. Radio Disney provided music, and Body Bash Boot Camp, Tiger Schulmann's Karate and the YMCA provided health and fitness information and demonstrations. Xtreme Juice, Berryism, D'Lites Emporium and Vitamin Water distributed free food samples, and members of Plant High's girls' basketball team participated.
