Tampa International Airport ranked No. 1 nationwide in the 2007 Zagat Survey regardingquality of service factors in a poll of 7,498 frequent fliers. The Denver and Minneapolis-St. Paul airports tied for second, Orlando was fourth and Detroit was fifth. New York's LaGuardia Airport finished last, with Miami next to last. It's called hunting the $100 hamburger - '$100' referring to the cost of fuel - sort of the aeronautical equivalent of lazy Sunday drives in which the destination isn't as important as the pleasure of getting away. The thrill level, though, is just a bit higher than that of tooling through the New England countryside in fall foliage season. ...more
