DADE CITY Pasco County commissioners Tuesday approved an engineer's recommendation to realign the western end of Blanton Road and alter its junction with Lake Iola Road in northeast Pasco. The changes are intended to improve the safety of the intersection, which forms as Blanton Road curves to the north and meets Lake Iola at an angle. The new design will shift the westernmost portion of Blanton road slightly to the north, causing it to meet Lake Iola as a three-way T-shaped intersection, according to plans presented by Johnson Engineering.
