Do we want the United States to be like Europe? The European model has worked in many ways. I am delighted whenever I get a chance to go to Stockholm or Amsterdam, not to mention Rome or Paris. There's a lot to like - a lot to love - about day-to-day life in Europe. But I argue that the answer to this question is "no." Not for economic reasons. State Clubs Illinois Club of Spring Hill will meet at 1 p.m. today at Forest Oaks Lutheran Church, 8555 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. A Hawaiian luau will be featured, so dress in Hawaiian style. Bring a dish to share plus own table service and beverage. Coffee will be provided. The object of the club is to promote fellowship, social and fraternal activities for former residents of Illinois.
