Like many small communities that abut major cities, Temple Terrace has a huge traffic problem it can't control. The city has no jurisdiction over the main arteries of Fowler and Fletcher avenues or 56th Street, but the city's future growth is limited by these failing roads. ...more

TEMPLE TERRACE - The city will not consolidate its emergency dispatch operations with those of Hillsborough County. It was an option Temple Terrace Police Chief Tony Velong brought up during a budget workshop as a means to trim the city's costs. He said the action would save the city $1 million a year. The city is facing a potential revenue loss of $1.4 million because of state-mandated rollbacks in property taxes. ...more
