In a presidential election year where both sides claim to be candidates for change, there's little new in the nastiness of the campaign. Comments concerning "lipstick on a pig" are being thrown around as if one of the candidates just stated he would declare war on North Korea if elected. Picking Palin to be his running mate was to McCain the perfect political choice, but using her family's experience in order to gain the fundamentalist votes will not be good for the fundamentalist cause, as it blows up their theory that teaching abstinence is the solution to teen pregnancies. Before Palin became a political pawn, women were supposed to stay home and teach their children family values, even to the point of home schooling. We are now being told that a working mother can have it all as long as she doesn't resort to abortions (and can afford to have others take up her duties at home.) ...more
