FIRST TEAM Kim Carpenter, Berkeley Prep, Jr. Carpenter was one of the main reasons the Bucs advanced to the 1A state tournament for the first time since 2003, proving to be the team's most consistent player in the postseason. She claimed individual medalist honors at the District 14 tournament and finished seventh at the Region 5 tournament a week later. SEBRING — The Sebring High School girls golf team played well in Tuesday's Class 2A-Region 3 tournament at Sebring Golf Club. But their score of 351 wasn't good enough to qualify for next week's state tournament. Lake Howell, two-time defending state champion, won the nine-team competition with a four-person score of 321, while Olympia placed second and earned a berth at state with a 337. ...more
