I was attending a meeting of the Republican executive committee when Ron Grimming announced as a candidate for sheriff. The scope of his law enforcement background in conjunction with his leadership credentials essentially eliminated any other potential Republican candidate from announcing. It's unfortunate there was only one debate sponsored by Highlands Today. As the campaign unfolded, Ron has focused on the issues and is specific about what he will and will not do. For those of you who are not familiar with Ron, I encourage you to request literature from the Republican headquarters at 461 S.
