I have just finished reading the opinion of Dale L. Gillis on his views that "homosexuality is not inborn." I wonder what possesses a supposed heterosexual to be so inclined to determine that an individual's sexuality is not biological and simply a choice? Do you, my fellow human, have the same sexual attraction, love and the desire for a man as a woman? Maybe you have no sexual attraction for the same sex whatsoever, or maybe you have some attraction for the same sex? If you have no sexual attraction for the same sex, then what possesses you to spend so much time, energy on research to personally determine that your opinion is the correct one? Could your thoughts be because of religion, political, or both? ...more

On June 3, the Temple Terrace City Council awarded a $3,793.30 commercial facade improvement grant to White and Raymond Proch, co-owners of TWA Firestone Tire, Wheel and Automotive Services at the southwest corner of Busch Boulevard and North 56th Street. That amounts to half the cost of $7,586.60 to remove four sickly oak trees and replace them with four palm trees, as well as adding an assortment of drought-tolerant flowering plants that will front both thoroughfares. ...more

SEBRING — Equestrian enthusiasts and people who enjoy peace and quiet will enjoy a new development in rural Highlands County. Saddle Ridge is the first of its kind — an equestrian development that is also "green." The 1,200-acre development, near the western edge of the county between Sebring and Lake Placid, will offer 10-acre to 18-acre parcels for homes and horse farms, and will ultimately have 96 homesteads.
