SEBRING –– After battling a case of the nerves in Friday night's first-round 10-0 loss to Sebring, Avon Park bounced back in a big way in the Dixie AAA District 8 tournament at Max Long Recreational Complex. The boys in red and white eliminated Clewiston from the double-elimination tournament by a score of 14-4 on Saturday morning, and then stormed from behind to eliminate Okeechobee National 12-11 on Saturday afternoon. Okeechobee National took an early 2-0 lead, but Avon Park answered with five runs in the second inning. A resident in our condominium is creating serious problems with threats. He has threatened many of our children and adults to the point of saying he has a gun and will kill them. There have been 23 calls to the police in response to his threats. The police say they cannot do anything. Our association attorney says the same.
