In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly declared this decade the "Decade for the Promotion of a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for Children of the World." It set out eight goals to achieve by 2010, with the umbrella goal on the list promoting "respect of all human rights." Respect for human rights should be a given.
