The parade down Grand Boulevard in New Port Richey made it clear Saturday that the annual Chasco Fiesta has returned to Pasco County. The parade featured marching bands, dance groups and much more. If that wasn't enough excitement, of course there were plenty of beads being tossed as floats rolled past. The Mabry Elementary PTA Health & Fitness Committee sponsored its fourth annual Walk Your Child to School Day on Oct. 8, with more than 500 students participating. Radio Disney provided music, and Body Bash Boot Camp, Tiger Schulmann's Karate and the YMCA provided health and fitness information and demonstrations. Xtreme Juice, Berryism, D'Lites Emporium and Vitamin Water distributed free food samples, and members of Plant High's girls' basketball team participated. TAMPA - At least a dozen families plan to seek restitution in court because their children's dreams of stardom were dashed at the Tampa Convention Center about two weeks ago when a company promising them acting classes vanished. Charles Gallagher, a St. Petersburg attorney representing the families, filed a civil complaint today against the California-based company, Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy. Gallagher said he is seeking a cumulative refund of more than $15,000, as well as damages and fees. ...more
