We would like to thank the community, performance groups and staff of Highlands Hammock State Park who made our Music in the Park series of seven concerts for the 2008-2009 season so successful. Our citizen support organization known as Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park actively seeks to improve our beautiful park and improve enjoyment of its facilities for the general public. Back Porch Revival, the Roger and Penny Decker Band, California Toe Jam (twice,) Rambling Rose Band, Wirebeaters Band and Groovus played to supportive crowds from Avon Park, Sebring, Lake Placid and Wauchula throughout the past concert series. Many of our northern visitors took the opportunity to take in Music in the Park concerts during their stay in our community. All of these helped our Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park raise thousands of needed dollars for park improvements. ...more
