I read where the Hillsborough County Commission will take part in any county furloughs. Big deal. I suppose they will be sitting around in sackcloth. The pay freeze and no travel are both a given, so they shouldn't break their arms patting themselves on the backs for that sacrifice. We all know current economic times are stressful; there is a significant lack of funds coming into our state and local government. Our schools are suffering losses in income. I have read reports that Highlands County will need to operate with at least 30 less teachers next year.
