SEBRING – There will be 23 entries in the Highlands County Builders Association Spring 2008 Parade of Homes. The event will run from Feb. 22 through March 2. Homes will be open from noon – 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 – 5 p.m. Sundays. A police officer was injured by a hit-and-run driver while dispersing a large crowd that had gathered at a food store early this morning. One person is in custody in connection with the incident, which happened about 2:20 a.m. at the Food Max Store, 1400 18th Ave. S. Police said late-night crowds have been gathered at the store on Fridays and Saturdays for the past few weeks. ...more
