Have we not learned anything from the ongoing cost effects of unions, related to the "economic" melt down? The president signed a bill recently that states that preference should be given to union contractors on large federal construction jobs. Have you ever seen a union construction project that was cost efficient? Since unions have been slowly shrinking, what about the nonunion contractors? After reading Frances Earl's recent column this past Thursday, I have come to the conclusion that she likes to make things up. Things like: Republicans coming out in droves for Sen. Barack Obama. Well, the only Republicans I know who are backing Obama are the spineless Washington insiders who are more interested in being invited to Washington parties and being liked by the media. I am talking about the so-called: "Blue Blood Republicans" or moderate Republicans. But the true conservative Republicans would in no way vote for someone like Obama whose new age socialism would truly put this country into debt if all of his programs were in put into play. ...more
