Trim Notice Nightmare Having received my shell game/smoke and mirrors notice, known by some as the Trim Notice, I assume that I am as disgusted and enraged as many property owners in Florida. ST. PETERSBURG Optimism isn't optional in the days before spring training opens. Even the teams that are well aware it would take a seismic shift in the baseball landscape to put them in contention in 2008 will have a measure of excitement when pitchers and catchers officially report this week. Is Highlands County's economy beginning to turn around? A growing number of people have that hunch, even though no firm numbers can prove it. To some of us it seems like things are looking a bit better. It's a gut feeling but there are a few signs that look promising.
