SEBRING — Up to one hour of today's state Board of Education meeting in Tallahassee will be reserved for public input on the proposed science standards. Those interested in providing testimony should arrive at the Cabinet Meeting room in the state capitol at 8 a.m. to complete a speaker card. Speaker cards will be available in the lobby outside the Cabinet Meeting room. Northwest Elementary School hosted its annual Veterans Day Program on Nov. 9 by honoring all branches of the military. Military guests visited classrooms and spoke to students throughout the day. The PTA held a breakfast in honor of the veterans. The Hillsborough County School District channel recorded the program, which included military speakers, the Northwest Chorus and patriotic songs sung by each grade level.
