Regarding "Dungy Son Transfer Produces Questions" (front page, Jan. 16): Congratulations on beginning an inquiry on the abuse of special school assignments by athletes in Hillsborough County. Please continue your investigation. It would be interesting to know how many special transfers are approved so kids can play sports at a "good" school. Last season, he stood by as the Pirates switched coaches, from Dale Caparaso to Tom McHugh. Between, he had to learn new offenses and new positions, and three years into his prep career, he still seemingly is playing everywhere on the field. ...more

To all those who say that the Lake Placid Green Dragons cannot manage a winning football season, I would say that they have been watching the wrong games. I have had the privilege over the past eight weeks of watching the Dragon Jr. Peewee team win every single one of their games, without allowing a score until this past Saturday. With little fanfare, and no press coverage, the Jr. Peewee Dragons became the district champions for the second year in a row. Two undefeated seasons. ...more
