The 27,000-square-foot store on Commerce Palms Boulevard opens for business June 23. It will be the first PetSmart in Tampa to have Doggie Day Camp and a PetsHotel boarding facility, which are scheduled to open in August. SEBRING – Bob Mullins didn't receive his business sense from a book because he only spent one year at the University of Virginia. The Lake Placid man, contrary to what experts believe about the importance of business plans, doesn't put much stock in them. Mullins ascribes to the approach of one of America's great retailers – F.W. Woolworth. "The Woolworth theory was that no matter what the problem is, you give the customer their money back," he said. BUSINESS BRIEFS TAMPA BAY AREA Oxygen Companies Probed An investigation into 10 oxygen providers in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties has raised enough concerns to support further examination by state investigators, Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration said Friday. The preliminary investigation by AHCA and the office of Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum centered on oxygen concentrators, equipment for patients with respiratory illnesses such as emphysema. The 12-member team of investigators found instances of billing for equipment that was never delivered to patients, the AHCA said. ...more
