I have started to get used to the inane idiocy that our illustrious lawmakers in Washington have been spewing, but the new law I encountered today really takes the cake. Having been the victim of identity theft several years ago, I was advised by my bank and my lawyer to not sign credit cards but, instead, to print "Ask for ID" on the signature line. It is my understanding that this program was established to increase the nutrition of our nation. The recipients should be required to take a class at the health department. I don't want to be paying for Lays Wavy BBQ chips or Hawaiian Punch. Also if their children are getting breakfast and lunch in school, the stamps should be adjusted for this. Maybe they think they should have a babysitter while they find extra money for tattoos and fake fingernails. Also they should pay the sales tax on some of these items! I do. ...more
