8:33 a.m. Polk County emergency managers are preparing to get back to business as usual. Because Fay appears to be heading to the east of Polk, officials expect no more than a stormy summer day. Red Cross shelters that were scheduled to open at 10 a.m. are no longer necessary and will not open. The special needs transportation has been canceled.
