The National Hurricane Center dropped all tropical storm warnings for the northern Gulf Coast. Winds in a weakening Tropical Storm Ida dropped enough this morning for the storm to be declared a tropical depression. Forecasters expect Ida to be swallowed by an approaching front on Wednesday. By 1 p.m. winds were howling across the Sebring area as rain was driven sideways toward the south. The EOC noted that sustained winds had risen to 31 mph and the highest recorded gust was 48 mph.
