The parade will feature floats and 20 marching bands. Free event starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs along 7th Avenue. LIGHT UP TAMPA BAY: Channelside will light up on New Year's Eve with live entertainment and a midnight Fireworks Show and Ball Drop along the downtown Tampa waterfront area. TECO Energy said Wednesday that it has closed on the $405 million sale of its coal, grain and phosphate shipping business, TECO Transport, to Miami-based Greenstreet Equity Partners. Tampa-based TECO expects to net $375 million after taxes and transaction costs. After the announcement, TECO's credit rating was upgraded to Baa3 from Ba1 by Moody's Investors Service, a reflection of TECO's plan to pay down $300 million of debt. ...more
